Staff Team

The work of the Standards Council is supported by a dedicated staff team based in Glasgow.

Rory Macleod: Director

Rory guides the work and development of the Standards Council as a whole and leads on policy issues and stakeholder engagement. He represents the Standards Council nationally and internationally, speaking at conferences and seminars, and is a member of several national steering groups for CLD.

Rory regularly shares his thoughts on news and developments in the sector through his blog, which you can access here.

Susie Bisset: Approvals Development Officer

Susie co-ordinates the Approval process, working with learning providers on submissions and supporting the panel on visits, as well as supporting individuals who apply to be recognised by the Standards Council. Susie also develops the business of the Approval Committee, taking forward their work on reviewing the approval process, kitemarking and analysing the suite of training available for CLD.

Alan Milson: CPD Development Officer

Alan supports and develops the work of the CPD committee. He is leading on the consultation, design and delivery of the CPD Strategy and Framework. 

Angus Williamson: Registration Development Officer

Angus supports and develops the work of the Registration Committee. He is leading on the design, testing and delivery of the voluntary model of registration and the ongoing work on Ethics in CLD.

Kirsty Horne: External Relations Development Officer

Kirsty supports and develops the work of the Executive Committee. She leads on Standards Council communications, being responsible for the website and e-bulletin, and supports Rory in stakeholder engagement and policy work.
