Lynne Gibbons

Lynne is Service Manager for Culture and Adult Learning at Stirling Council. She has been involved in Adult Learning and Community Learning and Development for over 20 years, firstly as a practitioner and then as a manager. She believes that CLD is vitally important to Scotland because it is the single professional area that touches on, and can make a difference to, every national and local priority: from employability to sustainability, health to democracy, for every age and every stage of life.

Lynne joined that Standards Council because she is frustrated by the sector's current position; she believes that CLD's potential to have a sufficient impact is not being fulfilled. She thinks the Standards Council represents an opportunity to strengthen and recognise the worth of our distinctive approaches, skills and values, so that the CLD workforce is better placed to make the contribution it is capable of making to all Scottish communities.
