Lyn Tett
Lyn is Professor of Community Education and Lifelong Learning at the University of Edinburgh. She joined the Standards Council to play a part in enabling the CLD profession to be more effective; she chose the Approvals Committee because she believes that high quality pre-qualifying and in-service education is the key to higher standards.
Lyn was inspired to become involved in CLD by her realisation that inequalities in the traditional education system caused many people to leave without the literacy skills and knowledge they needed. She is proud that Scotland has led the way in this sector – our CLD practice is highly regarded internationally – and wants to see the profession, and the approach taken, protected and celebrated.
