Ken Rutherford
Ken is the Director of External Relations at Elmwood College, where his focus is on developing people’s skills, knowledge and confidence, adding to their quality of life and helping to build stronger communities. He wants to make learning accessible to all, through widening participation and tailoring provision for individuals and groups, and CLD processes are integral to his work. Therefore the opportunity to join the Standards Council appealed to him on a professional and personal level.
Ken believes that the key to success for Scotland’s communities lies in working together, with local partnerships and relevant agencies combining skills and resources to meet the needs of young people, adult learners and communities. Through these partnerships we can promote and develop lifelong learning opportunities to increase the skills, confidence, networking and resources people need to tackle problems and grasp opportunities as they arise.
