Howard Sercombe

Howard SercombeHoward is a professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Strathclyde. He is passionate about the practise, provision and professional future of CLD, particularly youth work, a field he has been part of in his native Australia and now in Scotland. His passion comes from the conviction that exclusion, unaddressed, leads to disengagement and disengagement in turn destroys individuals and communities.

Howard has been a youth worker, adult educator and community developer; he is a one man embodiment of the three strands of CLD! He joined the Standards Council because he believes practitioners need a clear professional identity and an articulate, assertive voice. He believes we can facilitate and support the process of developing this voice.
