Garry Cameron
Garry is a manager in the Next Practice Directorate at Scotland's Colleges and the Chair of our Approval Committee. He believes the CLD sector is essential to a successful Scotland – it makes an invaluable contribution to the personal, social and educational development of individuals and groups – and needs to promote and support a continued high profile. At the moment, people tend to realise the value of CLD only when it disappears from their communities.
Garry joined the Standards Council because he believes it will reinforce, consolidate and support the workforce, particularly in terms of their Continuing Professional Development. He is inspired by the army of volunteers who support disadvantaged groups and has witnessed first hand the difference they can make to the confidence, self-belief and resilience of young people and adults in our communities.
