Post-graduate programmes

A Post-graduate programme is available with either a certificate (level 10 award) or a diploma (level 11 award) and is offered by the university sector.

The programme is delivered full-time over one academic year and is available at some universities in a part-time or workplace based format over a longer period. The curriculum has a focus on research and evaluation, social policy, learning technologies as well as the traditional elements of community learning and development including studies in work with young people, adult learning and community development/regeneration.

There are periods of supervised fieldwork practice which will account for 40% of the programme. At some universities there is the opportunity to continue study to achieve a Masters award. See professionally approved programmes here.
