Higher National Certificate (HNC) Working in Communities
The Higher National Certificate (HNC) Working in Communities is an SCQF level 7 award and is offered by a number of Colleges of Further and Higher Education. The programme is delivered full-time over one academic year or part-time over two years.
The curriculum comprises traditional elements of community learning and development, including studies in work with young people, adult learning, community development/regeneration and health in the community. There is a focus on the development of individual and group work skills and an introduction into CLD management practice. At some part of the programme a period of time will be undertaken in a supervised fieldwork practice setting. See programmes professionally approved by the Standards Council.
